week 0 | tuesday night | madara, ranpo, mary, lenka

[ look, sometimes you get bored of your usual sleeping arrangements... within a day. the call of lenka's fluff is too strong... anyway madara grabs a ranpo, lenka grabs his cute partner (or leads the way for her, he isn't a kidnapper like madara) and they meet up at the hachiko statue. slumber party time! ]
dinner!
Dig in! It's like a late-night city picnic, that's fun.
[ they get to eat in front of hachiko! ]

[And it makes her happy to do it, almost as happy as her happy meal, which she accepts with glee. This girl is super not about that life of buying her own food.]
Thank you very much.
no subject
[ handing out napkins for her. she looks young, so that isn't too surprising, but maybe a proper picnic is in order when they have room to move about in shibuya. ]
The company of people is the important part! You go by Mary, right?
[ thank you, handy guidebook. ]

[She accepts the napkins, but of course she dives past the food and goes right to the toy in the wrapper. It's some kind of off-brand pocket monster! It's kind of weird looking, but she's absolutely delighted as she pulls it out of the plastic.]
It's so cute, I love it!
[You have provided and amazing gift this day, Madara. As she turns her happy gaze back to him again, she thanks back on the profiles...oh, he wasn't too far away from her's, was he?]
Your name is Madara, wasn't it? Didn't it say you're an idol and that you died on stage? What does that mean?
no subject
[ he's beaming when she's delighted over the toy... it doesn't even fade when she asks about his profession... and his death. ]
Yeah, it does. I should be fortunate that it's accurate, but I guess explanations are in order as expected! I sing, dance, and perform for people, that's an idol. I do it on a stage most of the time with large fixtures and equipment. They're very fancy, because it makes shows exciting to watch!
[ he sets his burger down and brings his hands over his head. ]
Normally they aren't dangerous, but the setup of this one before a show was. So it broke and fell.
[ they're dead and know it... but how much should a teen filter for a young girl? he doesn't know if he wants to ask about what happend to her, so he'll stick with that explanation. ]

A famous person, I understand! It sounds like you're reaaaaally talented! I bet you had so many friends, and that a lot of people miss you.
no subject
[ he considered a lot of people his friends, even if... they didn't quite feel the same way? but it's fine, fine. also mary is a champ and he can respect it. meanwhile, his fries should devoured before the get cold, it's the worst. ]
Maybe I'm missed... Will Mary be missed? You're a very sweet girl, I bet you'd make friends easily too!
no subject
[Mary chews thoughtfully, careful to keep her hands under the wrapper because she really doesn't want to make a mess. Madara...he's a very interesting person!]
I don't think so. I don't think my friends miss me. But I'm making so many new friends, now, so it's okay!
runs in late with starbucks and-- I can't believe this is my 2nd ironic retroactive mcd's thread
[And especially not with such a scenic backdrop! For the most part, he's either lived on rations or in a military compound with cafeteria food, so this is -- a step up? McDonald's is somehow a step up, but really Hachiko(?) is likely the one adding true spice to the food.
Let's go with that. Lenka pokes curiously at his McNuggies, sniffing at them before he digs in.]
Thanks for bringing food. I didn't think of it.
Bedtime Stories
Does anybody have any stories? Not scary stories, but fun stories.
[She wants to hear about happy things!]
I don't know if I have any that I can share, but I'll try to make one up if you want me to.
no subject
[ grins and plops self in front of mary. ]
Ne, Mary-chan, do you like detective stories?
no subject
[She hasn't really read any but you know what, that's fine, she likes them. How can someone not like detective stories?]
What's your favorite one?
we can have 2 sleepover story threads at once
[Since Lenka's the big glorified bed in the middle of their strange little camp, whenever he talks the entire place vibrates and there might be armor plates digging into people's backs if they haven't positioned themselves properly. But Mary's had plenty of practice at this point.
He sets down his head by her, carefully avoiding any stray drawing supplies that might be in the 'bednest'.]
Or you can take a guess and I can try to think of a story that matches.
[Maybe he just needs help to jumpstart the story machine!]
yessss
[Mary only snuggles more closely into the soft patch of Lenka's fur that she's claimed for herself.]
What do you mean? Do you meeaaaan...liiike...I start a story and you finish the rest?
no subject
In the meantime, he just sort of tossed the idea out there, but Mary's idea is probably better.]
That's a good guess. How do you want to start?
no subject
[Surprise, surprise.]
With someone who was all alone until suddenly, they find someone just like them who is looking for a friend, and so they become inseparable friends!
no subject
Okay. There was once a boy who couldn't make any friends. No one around him wanted to be friends with him, because they thought he was a death god. But that was wrong.
[Maybe it isn't a good time to talk about gods and death. But it's important to the story.]
He met a girl who grew out of the ground. Like a flower.
no subject
[She's already like completely here for this story, she sounds so excited.]
What color?
no subject
[He thinks back to the bright white girl who popped up in their lives like a very strange daisy. No, maybe not a daisy -- or a rose -- though perhaps Mary would like it to be a rose. He's sure he can find a rose story sometime.]
She was all white, from head to toe. Like a lily.
[It's somehow easier, when he's storytelling, to think of flowers and all he knows of them.]
She wasn't a human, like the boy who wasn't a death god. They were the same. So of course she wanted to be friends.
no subject
[Mary, don't interrupt the narrative. She just wants to know that they'll always be together forever!]
no subject
I think so. I think they'll be very good friends.
[A moment of thought.]
The girl is doing her best to make friends. The boy doesn't really know how to make friends. He has a lot to learn, but I think he's trying.
What do you think he should do to make friends?
bed!!!
So for the moment enjoy your slightly glittery catbed I guess. ☆]
